| You sat there under the glare of the fluorescent lights. Your eyes rolled back until there was nothing left but whites. Why you wanted this puzzles me. You shiver in the summer heat. I shrivel inward in defeat. The warehouse where you housed your emotions till today. Now they've gone away and been replaced. It's as though any existence of my heart has been erased. Your breathing grew more shallow with each second that passed. How will I go on knowing not even you could last? A seizure seized her. She overdosed on what she thought she needed most. Her heart constricted and simply couldn't let go. Protecting her from the love she'll never know. I sat there under the glare waiting for any sign of life. I sat there trying to survive with knowledge that I wasn't a good enough reason to live. What does death have that I couldn't give? The fluorescent lights flicker as this scene grows sicker. A trickle of blood from your lips drips onto the cold floor where you used to lay before, but this cold, lifeless body isn't you anymore. |
